Cookie Notice

Most cookie notices are long because most websites use a lot of cookies. Ours is shorter, because Adore Your Pets uses none for tracking, advertising or measurement. This page explains the single thing we do store and how you stay in control of it.

Last updated: October 2026.

A quick definition

A cookie is a small text file a website places in your browser, often to remember you between visits or to follow you across other sites. Browsers also offer a close cousin called local storage, which lets a page keep a small note on your device. The key difference for our purposes is that local storage is not sent back to the server with every request; it simply stays where it is.

What we store

ItemDetails
TypeOne local storage entry
PurposeRemembers whether you accepted or declined our banner, so it is not shown again on every page
ContentA single character recording your choice, nothing else
Who can read itOnly this site, and only inside your browser
How long it lastsUntil you clear it from your browser

Whichever button you press, the site works exactly the same. Declining does not hide any article or feature, because there is nothing behind the banner to switch on.

What we do not set

  • No analytics cookies counting visits or measuring how far you scroll.
  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No social media cookies, because we embed no share widgets or feeds.
  • No third-party cookies of any kind arriving through our pages.

Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical server logs, which are not cookies and are described in How We Handle Data.

How to remove the entry

You can clear it at any time through your browser settings. Look for the option to clear site data or stored data for a single website, and choose adoreyourpets.org. Clearing all browsing data works too. The next time you open a page, the banner will appear again and you can answer afresh.

If you use a private or incognito window, the entry is usually discarded automatically when the window closes.

External links

Some of our older articles link to other websites. If you follow one, that site may set its own cookies under its own policy. We have no influence over them.
